Apical Group Ltd
Apical Group Ltd is one of Indonesia’s largest processors and exporters of palm oil and its derivatives such as food, oleo chemicals and biodiesel for domestic use and international export.
Apical’s four refineries in Indonesia and China have a total installed capacity of 4.2 million tons per year. In July 2016, it acquired Spanish biodiesel company, Bio-Oils, boosting Apical's annual global diesel output by almost 60% to over 680,000 tons per year. The refineries are supported by integrated logistics infrastructure such as jetties, onshore storage tanks, truck and barge fleets, water desalination facilities and self-sufficient power plants.
Committed to a sustainable supply chain, Apical only sources from networks that are transparent and traceable. It works with smallholders to encourage best practices in sustainability. It actively monitors networks to ensure all suppliers are aligned with its sustainability commitments and has a grievance mechanism for its stakeholders.
As a socially responsible corporate partner, Apical supports local communities by developing their infrastructure and providing better market access for their products. Apical believes that supporting smallholders is an integral part of its business model, helping fulfil the company’s sustainability and business objectives.
Besides being a member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) and the International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC), Apical is working towards a comprehensive internal Sustainability Assurance System (SAS).
