Quality education is an important factor in the drive towards poverty alleviation and a better life. Education is one of the three thrusts of Tanoto Foundation as it aims to battle poverty. It has a multi-prong programme that involves empowering students, educators, institutions and infrastructure.

With scholarships and improved access to higher education, students will be empowered to break out of the poverty cycle and later be active and meaningful contributors to their communities. With pedagogical training, improved resources and support, education professionals also upgrade themselves to offer higher quality education for their students.

There is no one single solution to poverty alleviation, and the approach to improving education standards comprises many concurrent efforts from various stakeholders. Tanoto Foundation studies the ground slowly to understand the challenges and systematic problems that impede quality education and access to quality education. It continues to roll out suites of solutions and programmes to support this endeavour.
