Indonesian President Joko Widodo Inaugurates Asia Pacific Rayon

Asia Pacific Rayon (APR), Indonesia’s largest integrated viscose rayon production facility and Asia’s first fully integrated viscose rayon producer, was inaugurated by Indonesian President Joko Widodo in a ceremony held at APR’s main operational area in Pangkalan Kerinci in Riau, Indonesia on February 21, 2020.

Indonesia’s Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Minister of Trade Agus Suparmanto, Governor of Riau Syamsuar, RGE Founder and Chairman Sukanto Tanoto, and RGE Director Anderson Tanoto were also present at the ceremony.

“While I was running the core business, I mainly considered growth and profit. But when I started to concentrate on the family office, I began to focus on sustainability as well as growth,” Mr Tanoto said in the interview.

SDG Academy Indonesia for the nation’s SDG progress

SDG Academy Indonesia was launched on Tuesday, 8 October at the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Annual Summit 2019 in Jakarta. The SDG Academy will serve as an inclusive learning platform for government and non-government stakeholders and will help bolster the capacity of all its stakeholders and fast-track SDG progress across Indonesia. The Academy will serve as the SDG Knowledge Hub in Indonesia.
