Asia Symbol (Guangdong) Paper Co., Ltd is Jiangmen’s first AA class company granted by People's Republic of China General Administration of Customs. The company, which is part of the Royal Golden Eagle (RGE) global group of companies founded by entrepreneur Sukanto Tanoto, is also the first company in the Silver Lake Paper Enterprise Base in Guangdong, China to be granted this status.
In order to encourage companies to improve the efficiency of customs administration and to ensure the security of import and export trade, People’s Republic of China Customs classifies export & import companies into AA, A, B, C, D five customs categories. The basis by which companies are categorized depends on the corporate compliance with laws, administrative regulations, customs regulations, and auditors’ reports on their management status. In order to qualify for the AA class customs category, the company is subject to strict customs inspection before being approved by the General Administration of Customs.
Companies granted the AA class customs category enjoy the "territorial declaration, port clearance" regulatory model, low inspection rates and other preferential measures, such as priority goods declaration, inspection and release formalities, priority for import and export commodity classification and testing procedures, priority for making appointment for customs clearance during non-working hours and holidays.
However, companies granted the AA class customs category does not mean that they are exempted from customs inspection. In the event that the customs found that companies are suspected of illegal activities during spot checks and are being investigated, the customs will implement continuous inspections of the import and export of goods, and suspend its guaranteed customs clearance policy.
Asia Symbol’s logistics manager, Liao Guangsong said, companies that are granted the AA class customs category, not only benefit from the convenient customs declaration and priority clearance, but also reduces their operation costs significantly.
