In February 2015, Asia Symbol Pulp & Paper Testing Center in China’s Shandong province is accredited by China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) to ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standards. This laboratory accreditation attests to the competence of the Asia Symbol Pulp & Paper Testing Center to carry out specific types of testing, measurement and calibration services, thus assuring customers that the test, calibration or measurement data supplied are accurate and reliable.

Asia Symbol Pulp & Paper Testing Center is the first testing center in China to adopt the international TAPPI Standards as the pulp quality indicator, together with other ISO standards. It was established in 2002 and is currently supported by 128 staff with the majority being college graduates. The testing center occupies a space of 1900 square meters and it has over 200 sets of  instruments or equipment that are technologically advanced, such as the Inductively coupled plasma (ICP) spectrometer and Infrared (IR) spectrometer.

CNAS is a member of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) that supports international trade by promoting international confidence and acceptance of accredited laboratory and inspection results. Technical barriers to trade, such as the retesting and inspection of products each time they enter a new economy would be reduced.

By having the Accreditation Certificate shows that Asia Symbol Pulp and Paper Testing Center has the technical capacity to conduct accurate tests and calibration in accordance with the CNAS-CL01(ISO/IEC17025：2005) accreditation requirements. The laboratories that have passed the accreditation assessment can affix CNAS and ILAC seals on their test reports and this provides a ready means for customers to identify and select reliable testing, measurement and calibration services able to meet their needs.
