Successful entrepreneur and pioneer of a group of manufacturing companies, Mr Sukanto Tanoto, established the Tanoto Scholarship Fund through an endowed gift by the Tanoto Foundation to help needy undergraduate medical students with their tuition fees to pursue their education in the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Woodfibre LNG, backed by entrepreneur Sukanto Tanoto, has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with the province of British Columbia in the proposed Woodfibre liquefaction and export facility located near Squamish, 70 kilometers northeast of Vancouver. The LOI includes the commitment by the province to formalize its new two-tier tax on LNG export terminals by Nov 30 and Woodfibre LNG expects to complete a project-development agreement with the government by the end of the year.
Jakarta, 29 July 2013 – Tanoto Foundation International and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania announced today the launch of the Tanoto Initiative, a multi-component program to promote studies and research on ASEAN, with a focus on Indonesia.
