RGE Chairman Sukanto Tanoto made a return to Davos after many years, to attend the World Economic Forum 2016. He joined an esteemed panel on protection-production economy, and shared how the RGE group of companies implement protection-production partnerships, to impactful outcomes.

RGE's business group, APRIL Group, has used the protection-production partnerships model to improve land management. This are aimed at reducing the risk of illegal encroachment, illegal logging and illegal fires, which cause the haze.

At the panel discussion, Mr Sukanto Tanoto announced the addition of the fourth C in the RGE group of companies' business pricinples: Climate.

This comes at an apt time, after having achieved many major sustainability milestones in previous years. RGE companies have already been focused on environmental stewardship in parallel with doing what is good for community and country.

It is also fitting that the addition of "Climate" represents the group's ongoing and long-term focus on business sustainability, minimising wastage, creating shared value and projects such as the Restorasi Ekosistem Riau.

This addition also recognises the group's belief that the sustainability of the company and its business, are entwined with that of the community, country and climate.
