On the sidelines of COP21 in Paris, APRIL Group announced a USD 100 million investment in peatland restoration, conservation and protection through the Restorasi Ekosistem Riau (RER) programme.

The investment will be over the course of 10 years, signalling APRIL Group's focus on the long-term protection of peatlands. 

This renewed commitment will also double APRIL Group's peatland restoration activities in Indonesia to 150,000 hectares.

This is yet another milestone in APRIL Group's sustainability journey, as it continues to make strategic and impactful contributions to the environment and communities, creating environmental benefits, economic opportunity and social progress.

With these contributions, the pulp and paper giant will join Indonesia's push to develop and realise her sustainable development goals (SDGs).
