The annual mid-autumn festival Mid Autumn Festival is approaching. The festival is held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the lunar calendar, which is when family and friends come together to celebrate the harvest and offer prayers and thanksgiving. On this occasion, many families today still practice this popular tradition of having outdoor reunions among friends and relatives to eat mooncakes and watch the full moon, which is a symbol of harmony and unity. There is a saying that “A person thinks of family or loved ones especially more during such festive occasions”.
On August 29, Asia Symbol (Shandong) Pulp & Paper Co., Ltd. organized an activity to “warm the hearts of soldiers”, in order to ease the homesickness of the soldiers in Rizhao. These soldiers are stationed at the Rizhao border checkpoints and are on duty, which bring them away from their families and hometowns during the mid-autumn festival. The company delivered mooncakes and festive greetings to the soldiers, bringing them cheer & giving them cause to celebrate among themselves eventhough they may not be with their families during this festive period. This activity helps to enhance the communication and exchanges between companies and soldiers; who are both contributing to the development of Rizhao.
