On August 8, 2016, Sateri confirmed orders for machineries to expand its Viscose Staple Fibre (VSF) production capacity by 1 million tonnes. This will position Sateri as the largest VSF producer in the world by 2020. The total investment in the expansion is expected to exceed RMB10 billion (USD1.5 billion).

A record 300 Tanoto scholars convened at the recent annual Tanoto Scholars Gathering in Pangkalan Kerinci. Officially opened by Tanoto Foundation board of trustees member Anderson Tanoto, this year's Tanoto Scholars Gathering, as with previous Gatherings, saw a series of seminars, activities and events that fostered character-building, team-bonding, and also greater awareness and sense of responsibility to the community, country and climate.
