Building on the initially success of the Fire-Free Village Programme, APRIL Group organised a technical workshop for the sharing of implementation and practices that have seen significant reduction in fires in Riau over the last 2 years.

RGE was among sponsors for the Indonesia Lunch Dialogue at the World Economic Forum in Davos 2016. The 21 Jan event saw an esteemed panel comprising leaders from academia, government and the private sector giving their assessment of the challenges Indonesia has to confront and overcome.

RGE Chairman Sukanto Tanoto was in Davos to attend the annual World Economic Forum, held 20-23 Jan, 2016. He participated in a closed door panel discussion on protection-production partnerships, and emphasised the positive impact of well-managed lands.

On 2 Feb 2015, APRIL Group joined the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) as International Stakeholder member.

Building on the success of the Fire-Free Village Programme, APRIL Group announced that it will be expanding the programme from 9 in 2015 to 20 villages this year.
