Talented RGE Employees Capture Business Philosophy Through the Lens

In this issue of Inside RGE, we feature the talented RGE employees who have so aptly captured the 4Cs--Good for Community, Good for Country, Good for Climate, Good for Company--in a 2016 photo contest that saw some 500 entries from RGE's global workforce around the world. The winning submissions are proudly featured in the 2017 RGE desktop calendar.

Sustainable Progress, Progress for Sustainability: Marking the Second Anniversary of the RGE Sustainability Framework

RGE and its business groups have for 50 years strived to become more sustainable; it was to honour this endeavour via the RGE Forestry, Fibre, Pulp, and Paper Sustainability Framework launched in 2015. Since then, the framework has been adopted and adapted in every aspect of its operations. Two years on, the framework remains at the heart of all that RGE does. Here’s a look back at the progress made in the past year:

Into Its Third Year, APRIL's Fire-Free Village Programme Receives Plaudits and Support

APRIL, one of the world's most technologically advanced pulp and paper manufacturer, deepened its commitment to fire-prevention at the launch of the third edition of the Fire-Free Village Programme (FFVP) on May 16, 2017, in preparaion for the upcoming dry season.

Marking the ocassion at the Pelawalan Airstrip in Riau were the Chief of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) Willem Rampangilei and APRIL director Rudi Fajar.

APRIL Receives Honours at Indonesia Green Awards 2017

Two APRIL sustainability-led initiatives were recognised at the recent Indonesia Green Awards 2017. Organised by The La Tofi School of CSR, the Indonesia Green Awards celebrates initiatives and achievements in environmental stewardship in Indonesia.

One of 31 companies shortlisted for this year’s event, APRIL took home awards in the "Biodiversity Development and Energy Efficiency” and "New and Renewable Energy Development” categories for its achievements in species investment in the Kampar Pensinula as part of the Restorasi Ekosistem Riau programme and for its renewable energy development through biomass programmes respectively.
